摘要(英文): Ralph Tyler’s curriculum ideas have been assessed by some scholars who held different kinds of viewpoints. To revisit the situation, this article aimed at analyzing mainly the criticism made by Herbert M. Kliebard and the defensive responses spoken from Peter S. Hlebowitsh. In addition, Tyler’s works, his classic writings, minutes on his curriculum practices, interviews and dialogues, and communications written by other curriculum scholars were analyzed. The author concluded that broader views should be taken in order to understand that various comments actually originated from different interpretations, and the whole picture of one thing could not be captured by partial points.
