摘要(中文): 本研究試著以綜合性的分析來探討建構一個國家現代化指數的面向。本研究運用多個測量變項,進行國家現代化指數建構。本研究運用24變項來說明56個國家現代化。本研究透過主成分分析及標準化Z係數進行國家現代化指數建構,並建立6個現代化面向指數與一個綜合指數。經由這些指數來代表國家在現代化的發展內涵。同時本研究經由與其他研究建構的指數進行比較,以瞭解本研究建構可靠度。最後,本研究亦瞭解教育發展對國家現代化不同面向的影響。本研究透過此種方式更能掌握本研究建構指數在政策應用。
摘要(英文): This paper attempts to provide a comprehensive analysis of interrelationships among the determinants of the modernity indices of a nation. We considered various variables in the construction of comparative indices. The paper presents a picture of the conditions among 56 countries with respect to the relationship between 24 variables. On the basis of the principal components and z scores, we searched for six dimension-indices and one composite index that may function as the modernity indices across countries. Finally, we show the different modernity indices of a nation is impacted by educational development. By comparing with other research and analyzing the countries in this way, we aim to facilitate the discovery of problems with government policies that impact on modernity indices.
